Violinist; born in Dresden; studied in Paris and in Berlin with Kiel, and later was a student in Munich with Rheinberger. In 1888 he was conductor of the Heidelberg Liederkranz; in 1890 succeeded H. Zollner as an instructor of violin at the Cologne Conservatory, and was also conductor of the Mannergesangyerein. Since 1892 he has resided in Leipsic. Singer has composed a concertstück for violin and orchestra and male choruses.
