Ravera, Niccolo Teresio

Italian operatic composer; born .at Alessandria; received his musical education at the Conservatory of Milan, where he won the first prize in each of three different branches organ, piano, and composition. He later became conductor of the orchestra of the Theatre Lyrique de la GalerieVivienne in Paris. His operas are comic opera, Lucette et Colni; Fiamma; Le divorce de Pierrot, comic opera; La Mare au Diable, called a pastoral lyric; and Estelle.
