Lubeck, Vincentius

1654-1740

Organist; born at Paddingbuttel, near Brennen, and died at Hamburg. From 1674 until 1702 he was organist of the St. Kosmas and Damian churches at Stade, and from that time until his death he held the position of organist of the Nicolai Church at Hamburg. He was one of the most accomplished professors of the North German School of organists. Vincent, his son, also an organist of merit, succeeded him.
