Koffler, Leo

1837-

Well-known writer, singing teacher and musical critic of New York. Was born at Brixen, Austrian Tyrol. Since 1877 he has been organist and choirmaster of St. Paul's Chapel, Trinity Parish, New York. He has written some excellent works on the art of singing. Among them are Take Care of Your Voice, or the Golden Rule of Health; and The Art of Breathing as the Basis of Toneproduction, published in New York, a German translation of which was published in Leipsic in 1897. He has also written selected Hymn-Tunes and Hymn-Anthems.
