Aus der Ohe, Adele
1860-
German pianist. Daughter of a professor at Hanover University. When but seven years of age she was placed, by the advice of von Billow, under Kullak, in his conservatory at Berlin, She was only ten when she played with orchestra at a concert in Berlin, and but twelve when she became a pupil of Liszt. She remained with Liszt seven years, and was a favorite pupil, her playing of his concertos and rhapsodies being regarded as marvelous. She made her debut in America in 1886. She is the author of several songs and pieces for the piano.
