Zang, Johann Heinrich



Pianist and organist; born at Zella St. Blasii, near Gotha. He studied for two years under J. S. Bach at Leipsic and the latter part of his life was spent as cantor at Mainstockheim, where he died. He left a quanity of church cantatas, piano sonatas, and organ trios in manuscript. Among his published works are Singende Muse am Main, and a Kunst-und Handwerksbuch, the title of the second part of the latter being Der vollkommene Orgelmacher, oder Lehre von der Orgel und Windprobe.
