Riepel, Joseph

1708-1782

Austrian musical theorist; born at Hprschlag Upper Austria; became in middle age chamber musician to the Prince of Thurn and Taxis at Ratisfon, where he died. He is known to have published some violin concertos, and to have composed concertos for piano, symphonies and church-music, which never appeared in print.
