Pflughaupt, Robert
1833-1871
German pianist; born at Berlin. He studied under Dehn at Berlin and Henselt at St. Petersburg. Married the pianist, Sophie Stschepin, in 1854. He completed his studies under Liszt at Weimar, which city was his home from 1857 to 1862. He then removed to Aix-la-Chapelle, where his wife died in 1867. He survived her only four years, leaving his fortune to the Allgemeine deutscher Musikverein, with which a Beethoven scholarship was founded. He composed songs and piano-pieces.
