Kipper, Herman


Writer for the stage; born at Coblentz, where he began his musical education under Anschütz. At Cologne he studied under H. Dorn and afterward became a professor of music. Many of his operettas written for male voices, proved popular with the choral societies of Germany. Among of his works some of the best known are Incognito; Der Quacksalber; Kellner und Lord; Der Haifisch; Fidelia; and Die Barden. He is also known as a writer of songs and duets.
