Furstenau, Moritz


Son of Anton Furstenau, and a flute-player and author of Geschichte der Musik und des Theatres am Hofe zu Dresden, published in two volumes at Dresden in 1861 and 1862. Furstenau was born in Dresden, and was a member of the Dresden Court Orchestra from 1842, librarian of the musical department of the Royal Library from 1852 and from 1858 teacher of the flute in the Censervatory of that city.
