Wurm, Wilhelm

Skilful player of the cornet a pistons, composer of numerous pieces for his instrument. He was born at Brunswick; settled in St. Petersburg in 1847, and was appointed a teacher in the Conservatory there in 1862. In addition to his work as player, teacher and writer of music he assumed, 1869, the duties of chief bandmaster of the Russian Guard regiments.
