Tschirch, Ernst Leberecht

Born at Lichtenau, and after studying at the Royal Institute of Church Music and the Academy at Berlin he went to Hamburg and Paris in 1845 ,and became conductor at Stettin from 1849 to 1851. He wrote cantatas and songs, overtures and other orchestral music and the operas, Kampfund Sieg; Frithjof, which was never performed; and Der Fliegende Hollander.
